As many of you will know, I am a big fan of Bergans of Norway clothing. So, when they asked if I would like to review the Reine softshell jacket during the summer I was delighted as ever. The jacket is simplistic in many ways, but the features it does have are all well-thought out. The cut of the jacket is tidy, whilst quality has not been compromised in any way. Typical for any Bergans of Norway garment.
The Reine Jacket feels absolutely bombproof. I’ve worn mine for country walks with the dog, night-time ascents of the biggest mountains of the Lake District, rock climbing days, and days when I’m instructing groups and want to be comfortable even when my job involves standing around for long hours in cold and damp conditions.
The Reine benefits from an adjustable hem, mid-pockets that are high enough to be clear of a climbing harness, and a chest pocket that is large enough to take a mobile phone easily.
One minor improvement would be a hood – as this is a water repellent jacket I like to wear it in all but the vilest of conditions, and a hood would make a big difference on those really wet days. That said, the Reine Jacket is comfortable as a warmth layer too, having a nice fleecy lining. The wrists have a velcro sleeve closure, and the elbows are tailored to give ease of movement when climbing or undertaking any other activity.

What is you height and weight and white size of the jacket have you tested?
I am 181 cm tall and weigh 73 kg. I am not sure if size M might be too small.
