Basodino Hooded Jacket II
Another nice product from Vaude, the Basodino Hooded Jacket II has very quickly become one of my favourite tops for general wear, walking the dog, and for use in the mountains too. It’s an athletic-fit mid-layer with excellent breathability, described by Vaude as being a stretchy fleece jacket for all activities in the mountains. I found the jacket to be ideal as a lightweight insulating layer under another jacket, or as a comfortable on-its-own outer layer in milder temperatures.
I particularly like the good-sized hand-warmer pockets, and the out-of-the-way front elasticated draw-cord for adjusting the hem. The hood is a good size too, and is perfect for pulling on when the wind gets up or the temperatures plummet.
I also like the fairly low-key branding on this jacket. Vaude have added their logo, of course, but it doesn’t leap out at you. This makes the Basodino nice to wear down the pub too. A nicely designed, well built jacket for a multitude of uses
The Vaude Basodino retails at around £80, and is good value at that. Find out more here: Basodino Hooded Jacket II from Vaude
